Insert new batteries when the battery symbol appears on the display. Using the tip of a ball-point pen, press the battery door lock to open the battery compartment. Remove the batteries and replace with new batteries, making sure the poles are in the right direction. Slide battery door back in until it snaps in place. 11 Troubleshooting Error message Situation No lens filter is attached. Solution Attach new, clean lens filter No lens filter is attached and activation button was pressed while probe was in the ear. Make sure probe tip is clean; refer to section «Care and cleaning» if necessary. Attach new, clean lens filter to stop error beeps. Allow the thermometer to remain in a room for 30 minutes where the temperature is between 50 °F to 104 °F (10 °C - 40 °C) Make sure new, clean lens filter is attached and thermometer is properly inserted. Then, take a new temperature. Ambient temperature is not within the allowed operating range 50 °F to 104 °F (10 °C - 40 °C) or changing too rapidly. Temperature taken is not within typical human temperature range (93. 2 °F 108 °F / 34 °C - 42. 2 °C). HI = too high LO = too low Battery is low, but Insert new batteries thermometer will still operate correctly.  i keep having to replace about every 2 years., for some reason it stopped reading normal as 98.6. I need the manual as i lost it and i need to know what the symbols mean , we like it and it is easy to use., i wish the refills weren't so expensive.... Excellent buy, difficult to open battery compartment . Great product , good product, very difficult to get in to the batteries, if you lose the instructions (which i did) it's not so easy to figure out, however, overall it's a great little product and we've had it for years.

 very good machine, good for the price. It was a gift so i don't know how much they cost to determine its value., friend has one and i just found one @ the swap meet. my friend likes hers so i'm hoping after i get the instructions i'll like mine too., very good product.. Very reliable scan, this is my opiniong how many words . Very easy to use., works good, need manual to determine if can be used in c and f , great little thermometer for the money. have used ours for years. i'm a paramedic and count on accurate readings for my patients. this unit does the job! .

 it's effective, it's okay. Not bad , no other commments, reliable, not easy to find replacement platic caps. Has worked well for 8 years., it has worked well for approx. 8 years. sometimes it's a bit hard to find the right place to read the temperature on. . If i could figure out how to use it, i am sure it would be great, haven't used in awhile don't remember everything.
